Do not assume a supplement is automatically needed
A product labeled for supplemental or intermittent use is not the same as a complete and balanced food. Record the intended species, directions, ingredient and nutrient information, manufacturer, lot details, and the reason you are considering it.
Discuss supplements with a veterinarian when your pet has a diagnosed condition, takes medication, eats a therapeutic diet, is pregnant or nursing, or may be at risk from duplicate nutrients or interactions.
Educational note: This information is general education, not veterinary advice. A veterinarian should help with symptoms, diagnosed conditions, medication, therapeutic diets, suspected food reactions, or individualized feeding needs.
