2026 Dog Food Recall List: Check Your Bag’s Lot Number

Last updated October 27, 2026.

Wondering if the bag in your pantry is part of a recall? Below is every 2026 dog food, treat, and supplement recall we found posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with the dates, the exact products, the reason, and a link to the official notice.

Most recalls cover only certain lot numbers or best-by dates, not a whole brand. So after the list, we’ll show you where to find those codes on your bag and how to match them to a notice. If your dog already ate something on the list, skip down to My dog ate recalled food: what to do.

2026 dog food recalls at a glance

Dates are the date the notice was posted by FDA. Always open the FDA notice to see the full list of lot codes before you decide your food is affected (or safe).

Lot codes and dates to check, brand by brand

  • Raaw Energy: no lot codes. Check the date code (date made) on the white sticker on the tube and box. The recall covers all dog food made 7/17/25 through 12/23/25, plus a 3/31/26 Beef and Turkey Medley batch. FDA says to throw it away if you can’t read the date.
  • Elite Treats Chicken Chips: 6 oz black and gold bag, lot 24045, expiration 04/2027 (printed on the back).
  • Young Again Core Health: Medium-Large Dog and Puppy Formula, 10 lb and 25 lb bags, best by 10/28/2026 (printed as 102826). This one was posted in FDA’s weekly Enforcement Report, not as a press release, so it isn’t in FDA’s main recall table.
  • Breeder’s Edge and Shelter’s Choice milk replacers: many sizes, UPCs, and best-by dates, so compare your container to the full tables in both FDA notices. Important if you’re bottle-feeding puppies.
  • Albright’s Chicken Recipe for Dogs: frozen 1 lb, lot C001730, best by 28-Apr-27.
  • Steve’s Real Food Freeze Dried Chicken Recipe: 1.25 lb beige bag with a maroon stripe, lot C26022, best by 1/22/2028, both printed on the front of the bag.
  • Pedigree High Protein Chopped Chicken and Duck Flavor: 13.2 oz cans, lot codes 613C3KKCFC and 613C1KKCFC only. Mars says these lots were sent for destruction but were diverted and sold. Pedigree Consumer Care: 1-800-525-5273.
  • Oma’s Pride Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe: 6 lb bag, lot BB012729.
  • Fromm: Turkey Pate 12.2 oz (UPC 072705118700, lot EP2A3306 551006) and Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pate 12.5 oz (UPC 072705132324, lot EP2A3306 551029), both best by 032029. Fromm says no other products are affected.
  • Northwest Naturals: Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe 6 lb, lot B-19, best by 01/25/2028, UPC 087316380392. Frozen Chicken Recipe 2 lb, lot B-5, best by 01/26/2028, UPC 087316384956.
  • Fi supplements: Fi Calming 180 g lot 26118 and Fi 8-in-1 Formula 180 g lot 26159, sold direct and on Amazon and Chewy.

A note for cat households

If you also have cats, two 2026 cat food alerts are worth knowing: Quest cat food (low thiamine, starting February 2026) and an October 26, 2026 FDA advisory not to feed two lots of Darwin’s Natural Pet Products Chicken Recipe cat food due to Salmonella.

Seen an “OC Raw Dog recall” post on Facebook?

An old 2016 OC Raw Dog recall notice has been circulating on social media again. It is not a new 2026 recall. Always check the date on the notice.

Where to find the lot number, UPC, and best-by date on your bag

Every recall notice identifies affected food by some combination of lot code, UPC, and best-by (or expiration) date. Here’s where to look:

  • Dry food bags: the lot code and best-by date are usually printed (often in ink jet dots or small black text) along the top or bottom seam of the bag, or on the back panel near the bottom. Turn the bag over and check both folded edges.
  • UPC: the barcode, usually on the back of the bag, often near a bottom corner. The UPC is the 12-digit number printed under the bars. It identifies the product and size, but not the lot.
  • Cans: look on the top or bottom of the can for the lot code and best-by date. The UPC is on the label wrap.
  • Frozen and raw foods: check the sticker or printed area on the package, and the outer box. Some brands use a production date instead of a lot code.

For more on what each part of a label tells you, see How to Read a Dog Food Label.

How to compare your bag to a recall notice

  1. Match the brand, product name, and size first. “Chicken Recipe” from one brand is not the same as another brand’s chicken recipe, and a 6 lb bag may be recalled while the 24 lb bag isn’t.
  2. Check the UPC against the notice.
  3. Check the lot code and best-by date. Both must match the notice. If your bag has a different lot or date, it’s not part of that recall.
  4. When in doubt, call the company. The phone number is in every FDA notice. Have your bag in front of you.
  5. Take a photo of the codes before you throw out or return the bag. Even if you’re fine today, you’ll have it if a recall expands later.

My dog ate recalled food: what to do

  1. Stop feeding it right away. Put the food somewhere your pets (and kids) can’t reach. Don’t donate it.
  2. Keep the bag, or at least photograph the lot code, UPC, and best-by date. Your vet, the company, and FDA may all ask for them. Seal the bag in a plastic bag if it may be contaminated.
  3. Watch for symptoms. For Salmonella or Listeria, watch for vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, low energy, and not eating. For foreign material, watch for choking, vomiting, or belly pain. Some pets carry bacteria without looking sick.
  4. Call your vet, even if your dog seems fine, and tell them which product and lot your dog ate. Call right away if you see any symptoms.
  5. Protect your family. Bacteria in pet food can make people sick too. Wash your hands, and clean and disinfect bowls, scoops, storage bins, and counters. Pick up and bag your dog’s waste promptly.
  6. Report it to FDA through the FDA Safety Reporting Portal, especially if your dog got sick. FDA also explains other ways to report on its How to Report a Pet Food Complaint page.
  7. Contact the company for a refund or replacement. The notice lists the phone number or email.
  8. Switch foods carefully. If you need a new food, mix it in over several days when you can. Our How to Change Dog Food Gradually guide has a simple schedule.
